Vineyards

The south-east coast of England is synonymous with the white cliffs of Dover. It is this iconic chalk soil, the same as that of Champagne – just 90 miles to the south, coupled with our cool climate that enables us to produce truly world-class sparkling wines, as well as aromatic white wines and elegant light red wines from grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Bacchus. This makes it the perfect place to enjoy a wine tasting break.

The Chapel Down Winery

Chapel Down, is one of the finest vineyards in Kent. They source fruit from a wider geographic area – from Essex to Hampshire - to ensure we maintain consistency and that the risks of crop failure through frost, unusual weather events and climate are therefore reduced.

Biddenden Vineyards

Biddenden Vineyard is Kent’s oldest commercial vineyard, having been established by the Barnes family in 1969 to produce wines and ciders. The vineyards are set in 23 acres on a gentle south facing slope in a shallow sheltered valley, 1.2 miles from the lovely Wealden village of Biddenden. Eleven varieties of grapes are grown to produce White, Red, Rosé and Quality Sparkling wines. Traditional Kentish ciders have also been made here for over 30 years together with farm pressed apple and pear juices.
