Dover FC
Dover Athletic FC were formed in 1983 taking over from the dissolved Dover FC who had been around since 1894. Playing home games at “The Crabble”, Dover currently play in the National League which is the league just below “The Football League”. Featuring teams such as Torquay, Dagenham and Redbridge and Tranmere as well as Kent rivals Maidstone and Bromley, the league is a competitive one with many hotly contested matches. Water Sports in Dover
Dover, being on the coast naturally lends itself to watersports. Dover Sea Sports Centre is located in Dover Harbour, in a safe and protected space with the world’s busiest ferry port in the background. Offering a square mile of sheltered water, there are many water sports on offer here including sailing, windsurfing, powerboat training, paddleboard training and yacht courses. Course are suitable for both beginners and experts and children and adults. Whether you’re a complete novice or a seasoned water sports enthusiast, there’s something here for you. Kent Cricket Club
For cricket enthusiasts, Kent has Kent Cricket Club based in Canterbury. Playing most of their matches at the Spitfire Stadium, Kent are one of only eighteen first-class county clubs in England and Wales. You can watch various games at the stadium including normal matches as well as the exciting 20/20 cricket full of big shots and high scores. Cyclopark
If you love cycling or want to give it a go, then you may want to visit Cyclopark. Cyclopark is a newly built sports venue providing amazing cycling and skateboarding facilities. With various courses including a road circuit, mountain bike circuit as well as a BMX section and a skate park, there’s plenty of variety on offer. Angling in Hythe
Those who enjoy fishing activities shouldn’t miss out on the angling opportunities on offer in Hythe. The Cinque Pork Angling Society have fishing rights along 11 miles of the Royal Military Canal, but you can purchase a Day Ticket rather than become a permanent member if visiting Kent for a short time.

Hang Gliding
The Dover and Folkestone Hand Gliding Club are a small group of about 100 hand gliding enthusiasts who have 5 flying sites across the area including soaring sites and scenic cliff flying. Those visiting Kent for a short time can join the club for a small fee of £5/month.
