A Little Gem in Kent

It is not easy to find a quality hotel in deepest Kent on a Saturday when there is a large wedding taking place nearby! However, after lots of scouring the net, we settled on The Marquis which i have to say exceeded our expectations.

The location is ideal for exploring the White Cliffs of Dover and the south Kent Coastline yet tucked away in a tiny village so its very quiet. The hotel itself (basically a posh pub with a marvelous modern extension) is part traditional travelers Inn and quality restaurant with modern well sized rooms with all the facilities you require.

Our room was huge with high ceilings and lovely views from the high windows. The bed was far too soft for me but other than that, it had everything you could want from a quality hotel. The breakfast was fabulous and the team serving were extremely chatty and polite.

I would highly recommend a stay if you fancy night away from it all.

Wonderful Hotel

This is an individual hotel in the depth of the countryside but is is next to a busy road in which the room had excellent double grazing which eliminated all the noise from the road but it my prove difficult if you need to sleep with a window open other than to ask for a room at the back. The room was very comfortable with a well equipped bath room with all the facilities you would expect in a five star town hotel. The main plus point with our room was the views over open fields giving a true country feeling. The food was really excellent and flavorsome with plenty of choice for everyone. The staff are really accommodating to our needs and really willing to help. One of the plus points for us was that it was around 20 minute drive to the ferry terminal in Dover which was great to be able to split our journey on the way to France

A real treat! Excellent!

We stayed in a suite for one night and it was a wonderful experience. Great bed, plenty of room, heated bathroom floor, towel warmer and huge bathtub to soak in! Dinner was fabulous. A must is their homemade bread and service is impecable! Breakfast was also fantastic with scrambled eggs and salmon. Highly recommend!
